About this Event
The Frederick Arts Council (FAC) hosts its annual Festival of the Arts June 13-14. Stroll the festival booths along Carroll Creek from 10am-5pm, grab a bite at and head over to FAC's Sky Stage open-air venue for a special program of live original jazz under the stars!
Ultrafaux is the Gypsy-Jazz project of Michael Joseph Harris, Baltimore's premier jazz composer of Manouche ('Gypsy') jazz, known for high-energy performances. They feature intricate Django Reinhardt-inspired compositions mixed with funk and Balkan influences. The band often plays at the Charm City Django Jazz Fest.
Bass clarinetist Todd Marcus' straight-ahead playing has carved out a unique voice for the instrument in modern jazz. His music swings hard with both a fiery and introspective intensity while maintaining a strong lyrical sensibility, and is influenced by his Eygtian heritage.
$20 online, $25 at the door. Beer/wine available for purchase for 21+ with ID.
