Jon Henderson brings an intimate, one-man sonic experience that spans the full range of his musical world. Armed with acoustic and electric guitar and a looping rig, Jon builds layered, living soundscapes in real time, weaving through beloved covers, original compositions, and stretches of pure atmospheric vibe.
Jon’s roots run deep in the Pittsburgh music scene. As a guitarist with the psychedelic funk and jam outfit Chalk Dinosaur, a shape-shifting musical entity known for its fusion of dance, funk, and psychedelic rock, he brings an improvisational, anything-can-happen spirit to every performance. That jam band sensibility shines through in his solo sets, where no two shows are exactly alike.
He has also shared stages and musical moments with some of Pittsburgh’s most celebrated artists, including neo-soul singer Sierra Sellers, known for her mesmerizing vocals and sultry live performances, and The Buckle Downs, Pittsburgh’s funk, soul, and rock band, of which Jon was a founding member.
As his solo alias Sky Ridge, Jon produces chillwave, downbeat, lo-fi, IDM, and ambient music from Pittsburgh, PA, and that dreamy, textured sensibility flows directly into his live solo work. Expect popular covers you know and love, original material that lingers, and plenty of moments where the music just breathes.
