This SKIP workshop will focus on natural building, woodland care, and foraging. SKIP was created to help people develop practical, demonstrated skills for caring for land and community — skills that go beyond theory and are earned by doing. Through projects like gardening, food preservation, natural building, and community care, participants build real competence while working toward badges that represent meaningful, useful achievements.
The Learning Gardens is crafting four events in 2026 centered around SKIP and earning badges, offering participants a chance to build these skills together through guided, in-person workshops that prepare them for deeper stewardship and connection — all leading up to our largest gathering of the year, the Texas Permaculture Expo, November 6-8, 2026.
The event will take place from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A siding donation of $10 - $30 helps support our programs and the ongoing care of the Learning Gardens.
