Skillset Check: Genre Sampler – The Dances is an in-person class experience designed to help dancers confidently navigate the different styles they’ll encounter at Kiz events. Instead of blending everything together, this session breaks each genre down so you can recognize, understand, and dance them with intention.

We’ll explore the core dances you’ll see most often at socials, including:
Semba, Kizomba, Urban Kiz, Konpa, Tarraxo, and Tarraxinha.

This class gives dancers practical, movement-based exposure to each style, clarifying the differences between them, how they evolved, and how they show up socially. The goal is not perfection, but clarity — so you know what you’re dancing and why.

Designed to build confidence, musical awareness, and adaptability, this session helps dancers feel more grounded and intentional when stepping onto the social dance floor.
