Join local artist Alketa Xhafa Mripa for a workshop based on her beautiful book - Her Legacy - that tells the story of pioneering women.
About this Event

As part of the programming around our Marie-Louise von Motesiczky and Dorothy Bohm exhibitions local artist, Alketa Xhafa Mripa, invites you to join her for a creative workshop that weaves elements of storytelling, sketching, and creative writing.

Alketa's wonderful book, Her Legacy, will form the basis of the workshop. Her Legacy "is a collection of legacies of 100 remarkable Kosovar Albanian women. They were women who dared to imagine a role for themselves that reached far beyond their conservative society's expectations".

This interactive workshop invites parents/carers/guardians and children to collaborate, discuss, draw, and write together using brilliant women in their lives as inspiration.

We recommend one adult/carer/guardian per child to get the most out of the session, but one adult/carer/guardian for two children can also be accommodated.

Please note before booking your spot:

  • This workshop is for children aged 7 years old and above.
  • Adults/carers/guardians must be present at all times.
  • The workshop is not suitable for babies/children younger than 7 years old, and there will not be space to accommodate them due to the focused nature of the session.

Doors open: 10.50am

Copies of Alketa's book, Her Legacy, will be available to purchase on the day.

This workshop is kindly funded by the Marie-Louise von Motesiczky Charitable Trust.

Please note: Burgh House is a small arts charity, and we rely on ticket sales to generate income and keep the House open for free. Therefore tickets for events at Burgh House are non-refundable.
