About the organizers
Roller Dance started as a set of instructional skate workout videos by local skate legend Richard Humphrey in 1996. Richard now offers these lessons for download as well as hosts weekly skate lessons in Oakland. He’s been a teacher and spokesperson for the skate community since the 70’s.
Henry J. Kaiser Center for Arts is Oakland’s newest and also most historic premier arts venue. Built in 1915 as the Oakland Auditorium, the building fostered 90 years of Oakland history before it shuttered its doors in 2005. As it reopens this year, the building is providing a new home for arts and culture in the East Bay.
