Since our first iteration of "Skank Corner" was such a lovely night of musical craze.. it was a pretty easy decision to make it a staple at brewery La Source !!
Expect only the finest Jamaican oldies & goldies from ska to rocksteady, early reggay, roots & probably some early deejay styles or even some Jamaican rhythm'n'blues !! Maybe some of today's finest incarnations of sweet 60's Jamaican sounds too..
We are pretty excited to bring you yet another great line-up of talented guests !!
KiNGREG
Collecting 7 inch records since the late 80's, Kingreg has been a selector since the 90's, setting up Jamaican Oldies nights in Paris.
He was responsible for memorable events such as SUGAR N' SPiCE (that even had editions in Brussels too !), PARiS REGGAE EXPLOSiON or BAM BAM 007. He has been doing selections ever since at events and festivals across Europe and we are honored to bring him back to Brussels for this edition of SKANK CORNER !!
THE DUKES OF SKAZZARD
Active as "The Dukes" since 2011, this pair has been around as the "JB SOUND" since 2002 !! Duke Benji at the controls and Duke Mpti on the mic !! Over time, they have built their own powerful DUKEBOX Sound System and have become a staple of events and festivals across Belgium. But they have travelled with their selections far outside our borders for major events too. It is a great pleasure to take them along on this ride because there quite literally would be no ÈNE SACWÉ Soundstation without Benji !!
MC TiLLABERY
Originally from Niger, the Brussels scene is blessed to be home to this beautiful soul !! Versatile MC, Tillabery was also the instigator and lead singer of The Steppers band active in the early 2010's. We are delighted to share that he has joined this crew for all Skank Corner Nights to come !!
TOMSTEADY, DR KiTCH & CHOMA
Active together or on their own through several musical ventures since the early 2000's, these three selecters from Brussels will spare no efforts in sharing their love for Jamaican oldies as the SKANK CORNER crew !! Even though Choma said the soundsystem was fully completed.. there might still be some upgrades for this event !!
