About this Event
February is Valentine’s month and we will celebrate love and wild crafting by making bulrush hearts. This workshop is inspired by traditional Swedish straw weaving but on a larger scale and using locally and sustainably harvested bulrush. During the workshop you will learn about bulrush as a wonderful weaving material and explore how strong yet flexible it can be in weaving. Each student will have the opportunity to make several hearts and choose their favorite style(s) and color(s). No plastics or glues involved - 100% biodegradable.
This class is taught by Erin Cox of Field and Forest Crafts. www.fieldandforestcrafts.com
Erin loves harvesting, weaving, and creating with Pacific Northwest plants. She is passionate about sustainability, environmental stewardship, and the preservation of traditional skills and handicrafts. She's also pretty darn fun!
