About this Event
Puppet storytelling with Emma Boor
On the weekend of 23–24 May, St John’s is hosting a family-oriented literary festival in support of the National Year of Reading. There will be a range of free activities for children – including creative writing, live storytelling, and comic-book drawing– as well as events for adults.
On the morning of Saturday 23 May, there will be an interactive puppet theatre performance by Emma Boor. Emma is a brilliant local puppeteer and children’s entertainer who regularly performs at Oxford’s Story Museum. Her performances are suitable for children aged between 2–7, and are designed to inspire creativity and a love for stories.
After the show, Emma will lead a simple, hands-on workshop where children can make their own puppets, with all materials provided. Every audience member will make their own puppet to take home.
Please note that children will need to be accompanied by an adult for the performance and workshop. Only participating children need a ticket - please only book for the number of children who will be attending.
