Sivananda Yoga is a traditional, meditative style of Hatha yoga focusing on preserving health through a holistic approach. It was founded by Swami Sivananda from Rishikesh (India) and his disciple Swami Vishnu who traveled to the West to spread the yogic knowledge. The Sivananda practice is structured around 12 basic asanas (postures) and integrates deep breathing, relaxation, and deep meditation.
