About this Event
Inspired by the vision of HM King Charles III, Nansledan is an award-winning development at the heart of Cornwall’s north coast. His Majesty’s vision was to create a thriving mixed-use community with homes, shops, offices, cafes/restaurants, and leisure opportunities all within walkable neighbourhoods.
The development is being led and managed by the Duchy of Cornwall, which owns the majority of the land that Nansledan has been built upon. Established in 1337, the Duchy of Cornwall is a private estate that funds the public, charitable, and private activities of the Duke of Cornwall and his family.
Taking its name from the revived Cornish language, Nansledan means ‘broad valley’ and thanks to the help of the former Cornish Language Partnership, every street, lane, square, and quarter in Nansledan has a Cornish name. The development is well on its way to becoming a sustainable community of up to 4,000 new homes, supported by significant employment creation with its own shops, schools, and public spaces. It will help to meet Newquay’s future needs in a complementary and sustainable manner.

Hugh Petter is an architect and urban designer, specialising in traditional design, and Adam Architecture is the concept masterplanners and architects for the Estate.
Morrish Homes is a delivery partner for the 'Rialton' sector, and LHC Design is the delivery architect for Morrish Homes.
