SurfGirl Mag 83 Launch Party

• Co-founder of Gather and Glide Allannah Brown will be interviewing Newquay creative Zee Under the Sea about her surfboard collaboration with Hawaiian surf pro Coco Ho.

• Surf Confidence Coach & Psychotherapist Danni Unway and SurfGirl Sub Ed & freelance writer Hayley Lawrence, will be discussing, and answering your questions on surf confidence and positivity in the ocean. This is especially relevant with the cold months on their way, we need as much motivation as we can get this winter!

• What's it like being a young, female surfer in today's surfing world? We ask a crew of keen beans what life is like for them as compeitive surfers, negotiating the world of travel, school and sponsors expectations.

• Surf and Wildlife photographer Lucia Griggi will showcase her remarkable images, talk about the challenges of breaking into this male dominated world, as well as reflecting as her previous life as a photographer on the World Tour.

• We're finishing the evening off with a selection of female-focussed films and the Wave Wahine raffle prize giving.

PLUS: the new mag will be on sale, the Beach Boutique Shop will be open with a community discount, you can grab a delicous complimentary Toffee Apple Spritz cocktail from Connie Glaze Vodka, or a Goodrays non alcholoic option. Smashed Joes food truck will be serving up their amazing smashed burgers incl vegan and veggie option. There's a chance to buy tickets for the Wave Wahines surf club raffle, raising money for a trailer full of boards to run their community events for women and young girls. In the hangout area, we'll be bringing some vintage SurfGirl mags for you to flick through plus some fab surf books, so come on your own or with friends, everyone is welcome at our event. It's going to be a busy evening, so get there early!
