About this Event

sistering (verb): the sacred creative practice of holding her down and lifting her up

Join SageD Consulting and The Lola as we engage in the deep practice of Sisterhood! Using the foundational relationship model of the Legacy Leadership program, this monthly event series will focus on building the practices and resources needed to be in community with one another. We will hear from Black women subject matter experts, break bread together, and engage in playful fellowship.

This April, our theme is Pleasure. We will be welcoming Rev. Latishia James (she/they) to explore the practice of pleasure. We will discuss sexual health and wellness, reproductive justice, and pleasure activism while engaging together in a traditional tea ceremony. The ceremony will feature an exclusive tea blend from BLVCK LOTUS Herbals and incredible cakes from Bundtish.

Rev. Latishia James (she/they), affectionately known as Rev. Pleasure, is a Black queer femme, womanist culture change agent, facilitator of healing spaces for QTBIPOC women + femmes, and a writer. A Master of Divinity and Certificate of Sexuality+ Religion graduate from Pacific School of Religion, they currently serve as Co-Director for Organizational Development at Spiritual Alliance of Communities for Reproductive Dignity (SACReD), where they work to make Reproductive Justice a lived reality through liberating religious education and organizing people of faith. Latishia is ordained in The Fellowship of Affirming Ministries, is a healing-centered pleasure coach, and the founder of Pleasure Principles Consulting, where she works with women and femmes of color to reclaim their sacral sanctity. Like the true womanist she is, she “loves music. Loves dance. Loves the moon. Loves the Spirit. Loves love and food and roundness. Loves struggle. Loves the Folk. Loves herself. Regardless.”

About Our Ticket Structure

This year, SageD Consulting is incorporating an equitable ticket pricing structure. Our ticket tiers have been designed to reflect the lived experiences of attendees and the different ways people show up in our community. For example, for this event, we are offering a reduced ticket price for Black attendees. The percentage differenec in ticket prices is based on the wage gap for Black women. If you'd like to learn more about the wage gap, start here.

Our event series is also raising money to cover the costs associated with the Legacy Leadership program at The Lola. A portion of proceeds from ticket sales will be used to fund Legacy Leadership; we welcome and appreciate any additional contributions.
