This squad of female DJs made it to the quarters, semis and finales of our Vancouver Island DJ Competition, led by United Sound curator and our DJ comp winner, Andrea Wolf, who brought this concept. Andrea Wolfson is a Canadian DJ and emerging producer whose sound is a bold, genre blending love letter to the UK underground. Based in Victoria, Canada, she is on a personal mission to bring the pulse of Garage, grime, dubstep and jungle to Canada’s west coast- placing UKG at the heart of the dance floor.
In 2025, Andrea cemented her reputation as one to watch by winning the Vancouver Island DJ Competition. She now holds a residency at The Downbeat. A trained therapist and coach, Andrea approaches djing as both an art and a healing practice. Her sets are curated with intentionality- inviting connection, emotional release, and collective joy.

A long-time supporter of the rave and festival scene on Vancouver Island since 2016, SELAYNE began her journey as a DJ in 2024 as a creative outlet, quickly falling in love with the craft. SELAYNE grew up surrounded by music - her father, a talented musician and guitarist, influenced her love of music from a young age. She discovered electronic music after being a long-time fan of rock, punk and indie in 2016 at her first overnight camping music festival. SELAYNE has always been first a dancer and music enthusiast, which has exposed her to many dancefloors and styles of music on the West Coast. In addition to her love of live music and festivals, SELAYNE has spent over 12 years teaching ZUMBA fitness classes, a high energy dance fitness class with a focus on latin and world rhythms. SELAYNE draws inspiration from both her experience as a dance fitness instructor, her early memories of her father’s music, and her love for indie rock, folk, and punk music.
This unique experience has shaped her style as a DJ and emerging producer, incorporating many genres and flavors in her sets - focusing on percussive elements, groove, and soul, infused with melodic and emotive elements. Expect to hear genres such as funk, disco, baile-funk, 140, UKG and all things house music (especially classic and deep house). Her ultimate goal is to create a sonic storyline that mirrors the growth of a garden or the flow of a dance. SELAYNE is a “Sonic Storyteller” who cultivates high-vibe, movement-driven journeys.
