Sir John Soane's Museum Summer Free Family Drop-in
Ancient Egyptian Board Games
Thursday 29th August 2024
11am to 3pm
Celebrate 200 years since Sir John Soane bought his most prized possession; the Sarcophagus of Pharaoh Seti I. Join us in learning creating and playing the ancient Egyptian board game Senet.
The game of senet was often found in Ancient Egyptian tombs along with many other useful objects to be used in the afterlife. Challenge someone to this game played by the pharaohs and take your own version home to play with family and friends.
All workshops are free to attend. Simply drop-in on the day as part of your visit to the Museum. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Activities are aimed at children aged 4+yrs but younger siblings are welcome
