Just in time for Halloween, you can join us to learn about strategies for writing spooky stories. The class will start with a writing lesson that applies to a wide range of stories that can be described as “spooky”: mysteries of all types (cozy mysteries, locked-room mysteries, etc.), psychological thrillers, ghost stories, horror, tales of supernatural beings (vampires, werewolves, zombies, etc.) and otherworldly beings, post-apocalyptic literature, Gothic fiction, and more. Next, participants will be given time to write, and the instructor will circulate to answer any individual questions. The class will end with a workshopping session for those who are comfortable reading their spooky stories out loud. Please bring your own paper + pen!
