'Sip for Solidarity' will be a heartfelt evening of storytelling, donor appreciation, and connection. Join UK for UNHCR as we celebrate the incredible generosity of our supporters and hear directly from Refugee Storytellers and humanitarian staff about the impact of your support.

We’re honoured to welcome Maysara, a Syrian refugee advocate who will share his extraordinary journey of displacement, resilience, and rebuilding. Fleeing Syria at just 13 years old, Maysara overcame immense challenges to pursue his dream of education in the UK. Today, he holds two degrees from Durham University.

Maysara will be interviewed by Kana Josée, a fellow Refugee Storyteller, author, and activist raised in Rwanda to Burundian refugee parents. Together, they’ll explore themes of home, identity, and hope in a powerful conversation that reflects the heart of our mission.

Later in the evening, we’ll hear from a UK for UNHCR staff member (TBC), who will share insights into humanitarian work, the stories behind our fundraising efforts, and the incredible donors who make it all possible.

This event will be bringing together donors, students, and community partners in a warm and welcoming space, with free catered food and drink alongside an evening of inspiring conversations.

For students interested in careers in the charity or NGO sector, our Director of People will be available during the event to offer advice, answer questions, and share insights into working in humanitarian organisations.
