Sip & Roll: Creative Gel Plate Techniques
Join us at Atlas Brew Works Bridge District in Washington, DC for a colorful, creative afternoon of gel plate printing! Whether you're an art journaler, mixed media enthusiast, or just someone who loves getting hands-on with something new, you'll be introduced to the wonderful world of gel plate monoprinting in this fun, hands-on workshop. We'll cover all the basics and prepare you to create stunning one-of-a-kind prints you can use in your art journals, handmade cards, home decor, gift wrap, and more! The perfect crafty afternoon out!
Class includes: 2 hours of instruction and demonstration with all tools and materials provided — including gel plates, brayers, acrylic paints, stencils, mark-making tools, and assorted papers. Everything you need to create beautiful prints will be ready and waiting for you! While the tools stay with us, you get to take home all of the gorgeous prints you create during the workshop!

Feel free to come early, grab your seat, and purchase any food or drinks (food and drinks are available to purchase throughout the class, too! DaBo Burger on site offers food available for purchase. No outside food allowed). There is paid street parking available, parking at the Kiss & Ride (5 minute walk), or an 8 minute walk from the Anacostia metro stop on the green line. Class will start promptly at 6:30 PM!
Class Expectations: No artistic experience needed — seriously! This class is encouraged for someone who has never tried gel plate printing before. We teach the basics, including layering techniques, color mixing, and how to use stencils and found objects to create beautiful textures and patterns. Our expectation for you is to walk away with a stack of gorgeous prints and enough confidence to keep experimenting way beyond class. We love showing you how happy accidents become your favorite pieces — that's the magic of gel plate printing! If you have tried gel plate printing before, this class will be a great refresher and hopefully a chance to explore some new techniques and supplies that will re-ignite your love for this addictive art form!
