Since landing in Castlemaine after a very short trip to a Hawaiian detention centre last June, Tom Woodward has been making a folk bluesy racket on a mostly six-stringed acoustic guitar. From Adelaide to Sydney to Castlemaine to Tanja, he's been playing shows, releasing songs, promoting an album and doing a lot of social media posts like these. It's a tough life, and nobody's gotta do it, but since he's hopeless at most things, he chose music to be extra diligent about. Alongside the heavy grooving and super twanging True Delusions (featuring Castlemaine's very own Sam Fiddian) Woodward will be launching the first single from a new album at the Taproom on Easter Sunday. Songs from the road to the sound of the modern Australian landscape: you can dance, you can reflect, you can close your eyes or bop your head or throw your hat in the air.
A close first, second & third home to Woodward, Castlemaine holds a special place in his heart, and he is most excited to be premiering a new song with a great band at the very venue that welcomed him back into the music scene after a way-long hiatus.
Come down and grab a pizza and a drink and some boogie.
