About this Event

Join us for an exciting session in Singapore where we dive into the latest ocean tech protecting our waters! Discover how underwater video cameras are being used to capture unseen predators, learn about dugong tracking and mapping, get insights to how corals are being ‘shocked’ into growth, and hear about efforts to eavesdrop on underwater creatures, including dolphins. Whether you're a tech enthusiast, marine biologist, or curious citizen, this is your chance to see how technology is unveiling the secrets of Singapore's vibrant marine life!

Speakers: Sam Shu Qin (Co-Founder, Our Singapore Reefs), Goh May Ching (NUS Biological Sciences), Sirius Ng (NUS Biological Sciences), Koay Teong Beng (Tropical Marine Science Institute, NUS)

About Waves of Change Festival:

The Waves of Change Festival is an annual celebration of the big blue organised to inspire love, care, and action for the ocean. In our 4th edition, join us at WOC24 as we explore the nexus of ocean conservation and innovation with our Future Ocean edition! Featuring curated films and captivating presentations, discover themes such as underwater exploration, science communication, and how technology is paving the way for sustainable solutions; from alternative proteins to combating illegal shark trafficking. We hope visitors of all ages will enjoy this interactive event as we learn, reflect, and explore new opportunities to protect the ocean.
