Thank you for considering joining this event! My name is Karl Meehan and I'm hosting this event in support of my campaign to be the American Heart Association's 2024 Leader of Impact. I am running for the 2024 Leader of Impact because I'm tired of seeing people live with heartbreak due to broken hearts. As a result of heart disease and/or stroke, I have lost my Grandfather in 2001, my Grandmother in 2007, my friend in 2017 and my Mother this year in late July. With heart disease being responsible for 1 in every 5 deaths in the United States (according to the NYS Dept. of Health), I want to do my part in helping the American Heart Association raise money for the research of life saving treatments as well as public awareness of how to recognize symptoms of heart disease and stroke so that we can all spend more time with our loved ones.
