profound texts and beautiful harmonies to uplift the spirit.
The program opens with Dan Forrest’s Light Beyond the Shadows, an
evocative work that speaks to the promise of dawn after the night. Elaine
Hagenberg’s O Love follows, a tender setting of George Matheson’s
timeless poetry that reminds us of love’s unshakable presence even in life’s
darkest moments.
The heart of the program is John Rutter’s Requiem, a radiant masterpiece
that blends the traditional Latin mass with English texts of solace and
peace. Rutter’s setting offers a deeply personal meditation on loss,
remembrance, and the enduring light of the human spirit.
To close, the concert will erupt in joyous celebration with Keith Hampton’s
True Light, a gospel-inspired piece that proclaims the triumph of hope. This
