The 46th Annual Sing-It-Yourself Messiah conducted by Dr. Byron McGilvray, will take place on November 29, 2 p.m. at Fairbanks Lutheran Church. The chorus will be accompanied by an 11 piece orchestra. In accordance with Northland Center for the Choral Arts philosophy, the 2025 event includes developing singers as well as those with greater experience. It also provides an opportunity for singers at every level to join together to recreate this magical music. NCCA has a limited number of copies of Messiah; therefore, if you have your own individual copy of the music at home, please bring it with you. Handel’s monumental composition is generally accepted as the most quintessential oratorio ever composed, and will be literally performed hundreds of times during the season by ensembles all over the world. Come be one of those performers. From 2-3 p.m. we “rehearse” the choruses in the Christmas Section. After a short break, we reconvene to present the Christmas choruses and solos for ourselves and all who wish to come and listen. This annual tradition is offered free of charge to singers and listeners alike, but donations are gratefully accepted.
