Love to sing? Don't have time to be in a choir but would like to experience the magic of singing in a group? Then this one is for you! You don't need to be in a choir to participate. Join in and be part of a massed choir for a day and sing alongside established community choirs from the Wellington Region!!!Join community choirs from the Wellington region for a day of singing, sharing, and learning all while having fun getting to know each other. Experience the magic of mass singing as well as the energy of performing for and cheering each other. Our song leaders for the inaugural year of this Festival are Susie Hardie ( Hutt Valley Community Choir, Andrea Robinson (Khandallah singers), and Lala Simpson (Wellington Community Choir and Kotaba Voices). We will start the day as a mass choir to learn 3 songs for our combined performance then in the afternoon we will present a public concert featuring each choir and our mass choir. All proceeds from this concert will be donated to the Wellintgon City Mission. We are looking forward to singing with you!
Please bring: a drink bottle, keep cups, comfortable clothing for rehearsals, performance attire for the concert, and your own lunch.
Schedule for the day:
10 am -arrivals and first combined rehearsal
11:00- morning tea break (provided)
11:15 – Combined rehearsal (sectional)
11:40– combined rehearsal
12:30– lunch (Please bring your own)
1:00 – combined rehearsal and individual choirs practice getting on and off stage
2:00- break
2:30 – concert begins
4:00 – finish
