After performing on the UK jazz circuit for 25 years tenor saxophonist Simon Spillett is now considered to be a leading exponent of straight-ahead jazz. Inspired by Stan Getz, John Coltrane and Sonny Rollins, Simon was mentored early in his career by Tony Coe, Dick Morrissey and Art Themen. Recently, he has led his own big band, playing the music of Tubby Hayes.
