SILVERFEST 2 - RESCHEDULED TO BE IN SPRING 2025It's 8 Years since Francesca Cassini founded The Silver Tent, a global community for women over 50, rippling out a focus on love.
The figure 8 symbolises Infinity, the neverending story, the alchemical union of opposites, the ultimate balanced flow in life. This is Love, the theme of SilverFest 2.
The balanced Union of Opposites is a pivotal source of power: shadow and light, masculine and feminine, hot and cold, day and night, fasting and feasting, reminding us of that moment when we were created by the merging of a masculine and feminine cell: a nuclear fusion. And so we honour that alchemical process of Love, and embrace the power which is our birthright.
WHERE
We are gathering again in beautiful Tavistock, Devon, UK at the historical Bedford Hotel on the site of the ancient Abbey by the River Tavy, said to be the second fastest flowing river in England. It is an historical Stannary Town with world heritage status on the edge of Dartmoor. https://www.visit-tavistock.co.uk/

WHAT'S ON
Francesca will lead a Celebration featuring our theme.
Our gathering is an opportunity for our Silver Synergy (the subscription part of The Silver Tent, currently only £13 per month) members to share what they feel passionate about: their inspirational stories, art, music, skills and creations.
There will be many fun activities, and we're always open to suggestions.
We will also have plenty of time to chat and to get to know each other better.
We have many ideas around our featured theme, and depending on who is coming and what their particular interests are, the programme will develop organically, going with the flow. More details will follow shortly.
We felt rushed for time at SilverFest 1, so have decided to spread SilverFest 2 more leisurely over two days over a weekend, Saturday 5th till Sunday 6th April 2025.
SILVERMART
Alongside our meeting room we will have a SilverMart where Silver Synergy members can present and sell their creations: books, artwork, jewellery, products.
Tables at the SilverMart on both days will be free of extra charge on a first come, first served basis. A contribution to The Silver Tent on sales made will be welcome.
ACCOMMODATION
We have a special Bed & Breakfast rate for rooms at The Bedford Hotel, and there are many other options in Tavistock if you prefer, many within walking distance of the centrally located Bedford Hotel. And we have many local Silver Sisters within easy distance to join us for the day.
Bed & Breakfast Accommodation at The Bedford Hotel, including free parking and cancellation up to 72 hours before the date:
Shared Twin room: £85 each per night (please arrange who you’re sharing with before booking)
Single Bedroom for one: £110 per night (just 2 currently available)
Double Bedroom for one: £140 per night

They are reserving a limited number of rooms for us. Please note we need to finalise our booking arrangements with The Bedford Hotel by 22/2/25 - 22nd February.
FESTIVE DINNER
We are planning a festive dinner together on the Saturday evening, 5th April, at The Bedford Hotel open to all, wherever we are staying, and for locals too.
Saturday evening 2-course dinner: £35 (to be confirmed, and payment details to be arranged).
SILVERFEST TICKETS
Some may choose to attend on just one of the days, some on both. All Silver Sisters are welcome.
To join us, the ticket price per day, Saturday and Sunday, covers the cost of room hire, buffet lunch and refreshments available throughout the day.
Silver Tent Members: £65 per day or £120 for both days
Silver Synergy Members: £55 per day or £100 for both days
For SilverFest tickets please post here below, or message Vanessa Squire Kaliski. The Silver Tent will then send you an invoice for payment.
There is easy access to Tavistock by road and rail.
