Silver Creek is a beautiful natural area in the north east part of Brantford, and many people don’t realize it runs through a protected natural corridor before eventually joining the Grand River. It’s a great spot to explore, walk along the creek, and enjoy some quiet green space close to home.Unfortunately, like many urban creeks, litter tends to collect along the banks over time. A few of us thought it would be great to spend a morning helping tidy it up so everyone can enjoy it even more.
Join us for a community clean-up along Silver Creek!
📍 Starting location: Silver Creek Bridge (between Ludlow and Hackney Ridge)
🚶 Cleanup route: From the bridge west along the creek toward Friendship Park and then towards Brantwood Park Road
⏰ Start time: 9:30 AM
You’re welcome to join whenever you’re able — even an hour of help makes a difference.
We’ll have garbage bags and some supplies available, and there will be a table with water and light refreshments for volunteers.
This is a great chance to:
• meet neighbours
• explore a part of the creek you may not have walked before
• help keep a local natural space looking its best
Students looking for volunteer hours are welcome as well.
Wear sturdy shoes or boots and clothes you don’t mind getting a bit dirty.
Hope to see lots of neighbours out for a good cause and a nice morning by the creek!
The event will happen rain or shine (within reason).
