Silvan Schmid (Trumpet)
Tom Wheatley (Double Bass)
Eddie Prévost (Drums)
The trio present a buoyant and elusive jazz, driven by referential investigation and an unorthodox approach to the warp and phase of rhythm. Following a concentrated recording process at All Saints Church of High Laver, ‘The Wandering One’ will be released on Matchless Recordings in May 2024.
EDDIE PRÉVOST
Eddie Prévost began his life in music as a jazz drummer. A recurring interest in this form has been maintained, although always with an experimental ethos. Along the way he has maintained his fifty-year plus experimental credentials with AMM and numerous other improvisation projects, including his now twenty-year long weekly workshop. But drumming has generally been backgrounded to his experimental percussion work. Amongst many others he has worked with Ken Vandermark, Hamid Drake, John Butcher Jason Yarde, Nathan Moore, Henry Kaiser and Binker Golding.
“Relentlessly innovative yet full of swing and fire” – Morning Star
SILVAN SCHMID
Silvan Schmid is a trumpet player based between Zürich and Maastricht. He plays live and does recordings with people and projects such as Solo, Gamut Kollektiv, M.S.M, Alex Riva, Mraolia, Félicie Bazelaire, Lotus Eddé Khouri, TZUSSS, Fabian Saul.
He has released a quintet album “At Gamut” in 2018 and a solo album “Augmented Space” in 2021 both on Hat Hut records. He is a member of the Gamut Kollektiv, whose purpose is to explore, to seek and to set new things in motion. The collective serves as a breeding ground for ideas, experiments and new processes.

TOM WHEATLEY
Tom Wheatley is an artist and musician based in London. His work is patterns, rhythms and cycles, at an interface of physical and digital zones. Recently, his music has been documented on video and record.
His main collaborations are with Grundik Kasyansky, Cast-On with Ilana Blumberg, and various lineups & outputs with Daniel Blumberg, often including Billy Steiger, Ute Kanngiesser and Jim White.

SIGNE EMMELUTH
Signe Emmeluth is a Danish saxophone player and composer educated from the Jazzdepartment in Trondheim and is currently based in Oslo. With a sharp and unique tone her playing is easily recognized.
Melodies with rapidly changing octaves and a shift between the naive and playful to brutal primal screams are some of what makes up Signe Emmeluth’s vocabulary. Her solo performance is based around the idea of it being a laboratry where curiosity and stream of consciousness are essentiel.
Emmeluth has lately become a rising voice of improvised music in the Nordic countries with her own quartet Emmeluth’s Amoeba. Latest she debuted her commission work for Trondheim Jazzorchestra at Molde Jazzfestival. She has also worked with people like Mats Gustafsson, Paal Nilssen-Love, Mette Rasmussen and is often a part of different versions of Trondheim Jazzorchestra.
“Signe Emmeluth proves herself, again, as one of the most original and fresh voices in the Nordic scene. Provocative, mind blowing and emotionally engaging.” - Salt Peanuts*, Eval Hareuveni
“Micro tonal poetry in the first part that turned into a fest of jazzy atonal phrasing in a flow that hasn’t been heard in a long time before at jazzclub Fasching. The opening set alone was nothing else then FANTASTIC! ” - Mats Gustafsson
“This young Danish alto saxophonist (based in Oslo) is an exceptional discovery.” - Matthieu Joaun, Citizenjazz
