About this Event
Join the Silent Book Club Richmond chapter at the Bay Area Book Festival’s Bookworm Block Party on Sunday, May 31 from 11am–5pm in Downtown Berkeley! We’ve been invited to host community reading hours in the Chill Zone Reading Lounge at Martin Luther King Jr. Civic Center Park alongside other Silent Book Club chapters from around the Bay Area.
Bring your own book and settle in for a relaxed afternoon of reading, community, and literary fun. Sports Basement will be lending camping chairs on a first-come, first-served basis with ID checkout available onsite.

This free, all-ages event is part of the larger Bay Area Book Festival, so come early or stay after to explore author talks, vendors, activities, and more throughout Downtown Berkeley and Martin Luther King Jr. Civic Center Park.
This event is BART-able! Take Richmond BART to Downtown Berkeley Station and skip the parking hassle. If you do drive, there are parking lots available along Allston Way.
While this meetup isn’t in Richmond, we’re excited to bring Richmond readers together for one of the Bay Area’s coolest literary events.
