On Wednesday 3rd June, we return to Bio Bristol in Sundbyberg for a special screening of one of the most acclaimed Nordic films of the vear: "The Love That Remains." the latest work from Icelandic filmmaker Hlvnur Pálmason ("Godland")As always, the film will be shown with English subtitles, and we'll gather afterwards in Bristol's welcoming café bar to meet, connect. and share reflections on the film together.

"The Love That Remains" follows a familv in rural lceland as a marriage quietly unravels over the course of a vear Through intimate evervday moments, strange incidents, and flashes of surreal humour, the film captures the lingering bonds between parents and children as thev try to navigate separation, memory, and the rhythms of ordinarv life. Set against Iceland's stark and beautifu landscapes, the film unfolds less as a conventional drama than as a series of emotional fragments shaped by time nature, and changing seasons.
With his signature visual precision and emotional restraint HIvnur Pálmason creates what critics have described as a deeply human and "rapturous" portrait of familv life in transition. and one of the most distinctive Nordic films of the year. The film has been widely praised for its striking 35mm cinematography, understated performances, and a delicate and unique delicate balance of melancholy absurdity, and warmth.
