About this Event
You are invited to join us to talk about your Shrovetide Game experiences and memories. If you are a player, ex-player, spectator, committee member, local resident, or if you have ever visited the Game as a child or adult, please join us to talk about what aspects of the Game are important to you.
Please bring along any photographic prints or objects for us to photograph or scan to illustrate your story and memories.
We are gathering content for an exhibition and community archive that illustrates the game and its importance to local heritage, identity, and place.
Our work includes interviews, oral histories, and photography with the people of Atherstone.
The project is delivered by GRAIN projects with photographer and film maker Lewis Khan, supported by Historic England. With thanks to Atherstone Library and Atherstone Visitor & Heritage Centre.
