The McArthur Family YMCA is excited to once again host the 29th Annual Shrimp Festival 5K run walk, to be held on Sat May 2, 2026 in conjunction with the Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival.
The YMCA would like to thank FLORIDA PUBLIC UTILITIES for continuing their support as their main event sponsor!
THE 5K RACE / WALK STARTS AT 8AM
THE 1 MILE (12 & UNDER) STARTS AT 8:45
This great family friendly event continues to be a staple of our community and the Shrimp Festival weekend. The event starts at 8am with a 5K run and a 5k walk. The 1 mile run is open to children 12 and under and starts at 8:45.
Once again, the McArthur Family YMCA will be using the proceeds of the Shrimp Run to support Drowning Prevention Programs throughout Nassau County. Drowning is the leading cause of death for children ages 1-4. Together we can change that. The Y is committed to addressing this issue by partnering with schools and other youth serving organizations to ensure that our children are safe around the water.
REGISTRATION: 5K Run and Walk, $30 until midnight April 19, 2026. This date is also the T SHIRT CUT OFF DATE!
Late registration is $35 from April 20, 2026 until May 1, 2026 at 6 pm when online registration closes. Race day registration is $40 cash or check only.
1 Mile Run is $15 at all times and includes a race shirt. (12 and Under)
5K AWARDS will be presented to the TOP 3 overall male and female winners. Once again, we will have 1st Place M/F Masters awards. Age group awards will be presented to the top two M/F finishers. AWARDS WILL BE BASED ON GUN TIME. PLACE YOURSELF AT THE START ACCORDINGLY.
AGAIN THIS YEAR, we will award medals to all 5K finishers!
PRE RACE PACKET PICK UP will be held at the YMCA on Friday May 1, 2026 from 7am until 7 pm. The Y is located at 1915 Citrona Dr, Fernandina Beach FL 32034
Please take advantage of this to avoid long lines on race day. Race day pick up starts at 7am on site
Once again, our friends at Game Changers will be awarding 2- $150 gift certificates to the overall 1st place winners Male and female, 2 - $150 gift certificates to 1st place M/F Masters, 2-$50 to 2nd place M/F, and $25 to 3rd M/F overall. First place M/F winners will also receive a two night stay at the Omni. Second place overall M/F will also win a $50 gift certificate to Salt Life.
