The Smith Center is thrilled to present a sensory inclusive performance of "Shrek the Musical." Sensory inclusive performances are designed to serve any person with a physical, emotional, intellectual, or developmental disability as well as those without disabilities. This performance will be modified to address the sensory sensitivities that are often found in children, adolescents, and adults who have a variety of diagnoses including but not limited to: Autism spectrum disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, ADD/ADHD, intellectual and developmental disabilities, post-traumatic stress disorder, dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease. Families are encouraged to attend together for an enjoyable visit to the theater.
Sensory Inclusive accommodations include:
-An inclusive environment for all guests
-Relaxed theater etiquette rules enabling guests to enter and exit the theater as needed
-Ability to use mobile devices for communication purposes – no photos will be permitted during the performance
-Modification of house lights during the performance
-Quiet areas established in lobbies or lounges for individuals who may want to take a break from the performance
-Supportive staff and volunteers
-Pre-show informational materials to prepare for your visit to The Smith Center
-Partial refund guarantee: If a trip to the theater will not be ideal for your family the day of the show, we will offer a partial ticket refund up until one hour prior to your performance time. This applies exclusively to sensory inclusive performances held at The Smith Center
-ASL interpretation will be provided for this performance

Attendees Under 18: Children aged 5 and up with a ticket can attend performances at The Smith Center. However, based on content, this show is recommended for ages 10+, though you know what is most appropriate for your children. All patrons must have their own ticket, regardless of age (no babies held in arms or children sitting on laps). Patrons aged 16 or older may attend the performance without an accompanying adult with their parent’s or guardian’s permission.
