About this Event
Show n Share
Have you thought about trying your hand at sculpture but didn't know where to start?
Ever ask yourself “How did they do that?” when looking at a sculpture?
Are you an experienced sculptor who'd like to share your experience with other sculptors?
Are you keen to experiment with techniques and wonder if others are too?
Would you like to get out of the studio every couple of months for some face-to-face time with fellow sculptors?
Have you thought of running a workshop but lack confidence and experience? Try out a taster of your presentation on a small group of appreciative and encouraging guinea pigs!
All these plus more can be answered and more is possible! The more sculptors participating in this event, the better it will be. There is no expectation of experience, in fact, novice sculptors are as welcome as more experienced sculptors. Please make the most of your SQ membership and meet, connect with and learn from each other.
If you’ve never been to The Shed, this is your chance, while we still have it! Parking is usually available behind the Old Museum.
Show n Share is a regular event, sometimes alternating with workshops, and like the workshops, is free for SQ members.
What will happen on May 7th, 2pm - 4.30pm
Join us this month for a chance to share with others some of the artwork you and others are working on. If you're not doing anything atm, come and be inspired!
PLUS - Making a Small Wire Armature with award-winning artist, Di Conroy. Di sculpts in wire and wool and won Australian Fibre of the Year this year. She travels extensively in Australia teaching her work and is an experience workshop facilitator.
At Show n Share in May Di will run a wire armature workshop, showing us how to build a small wire armature for an animal. This type of armature would support a sculpture of fibre, paper or other materials and if time permits, Di will explain how to add fibre to sculpt the body with wool, fibre, paper, or other materials. She will bring some of her work along to show n share.
