About this Event
Join us for a live event as part of Gypsy / Roma / Traveller History Month at Durham University's Bill Bryson Library.
Guest speakers Damien Le Bas and John-Henry Phillips will be in conversation with Professors Becky Taylor (University of East Anglia) and Alex Barber (Durham University). Following this will be an exclusive screening of 'A Basketful of Eggs', a new film by Hazel Marsh and Lisa Smith.
The event is held as part of an ongoing research project:
Making History Months Count: Embedding Gypsy Roma Traveller History Month (GRTHM) in the Public History Calendar
Professor Becky Taylor (Principal investigator, University of East Anglia), Dr Alex Barber (Durham University)
- What does the history of history months tell us about the relationship between public history and diversity?
- Why are some public history celebrations more popular than others?
- The project aims to work with GRT communities to identify the extent, strengths and limitations of GRTHM strategies and resources.
