Sadie Skinner is a solo folk artist from Halifax, Nova Scotia. After creating a splash in Halifax as the lead singer of Band Steel Cut Oats, Sarah Roberts began her folk solo project, under the Moniker Sadie Skinner, a nickname of her grandmother who inspires her work. Though coming from a background of choral singing, Skinners vocals break from trained harmonies, and instead tread back and forth across the line of gentle and floating, to brazen and unsettling. Paired with simple and kind guitar and piano, Sadie Skinner brings a new light into the folk scene in Halifax and Vancouver.
Listen to her debut single, Electric Blue, released in March 2026 and available across all streaming platforms.

"Bright, uplifting, and full of heart, the folk-pop track blends radiant harmonies, warm organ, and light pop-forward percussion, building into a joyful celebration of everyday life. Already a fan favourite at her live shows in Halifax, this single marks the perfect introduction to Sadie’s unique sound.
Performing as Sadie Skinner since 2023, the project is driven by the name of the grandmother she never met. Originally from Newfoundland and based in Halifax for the past 15 years, Sadie Skinner blends haunting, intimate vocals with time-shifting fingerpicked guitar to explore love, nature, joy, and the zest of life.
Her music captures both emotional depth and technical skill, making her one of Halifax’s most compelling new folk voices."
