WHAT
Short answer = A Dance Party!! Basically, Bridge Church transforms into a Themed Wonderland, providing a formal prom, complete with red carpet entrance, hair & makeup stations, limo rides, food, giveaways & overall dance party for the Special Needs Community all around Austin. Also a Sensory Room & Game Room. Some drive for hours to participate & say it’s the highlight of their year.
Austin Line Dancers have been supporting for years by organizing to lead around 3 line dances throughout the evening from the stage, and all along the sides & back rows. There are also a few other familiar line dances mixed into the night. The REST of the time, we mingle, dance or find other ways to serve from the heart.
WHO
All Special Needs individuals & groups are invited, from age 14 to 80+. Around 300 came last year? Bridge Church members are there, organized into volunteer teams to decorate, feed, dance, etc! But there’s a maximum number of volunteers in order to not be lopsided and overwhelm the actual participants.

Friday night 6-9pm, May 1, 2026
THEME / DRESS code
Fairy Tales – Dress WAY UP! If not according to the theme, formal wear such as black suit & tie.

What you could expect:
Thursday: (night before)
6:30 Usually Volunteer groups meet in the sanctuary. It would be amazing if you could attend, but it’s optional for line dancers, & I will ofc fill you in afterward
We will:
- pray over the event
- get housekeeping notes
- address last minute questions
- take a BIG group picture!
- Then split up & discuss a little more specific to each group. I usually bring our giveaway blinky things to prepare & we might practice?🎉🎶💞
Friday:
Arriving 5:30 if you can.
Finding a good place to place our things. (Our personal things as well as the blinky things. We won’t take up a table, but will save those for our guests.)
At our designated area, I'll try to tape up a general schedule for your reference throughout the night on specific dance moments etc.
😍We gather initially at the beginning at the front door for a “welcome tunnel”, as guests arrive.
Work your way into the main sanctuary for general dancing & mingling.
FOOD:
- We won’t eat the snacks / goodies during the event BUT
- Volunteers usually eat dinner together immediately after at 8:30pm
3 approx TIMES FOR LINE DANCES LED from the Stage (based on 2025 schedule)
• 6:30 Stand by Me (to Up)
• 7:15 2-Step
• 7:30 – GROUP DANCE Under the Sea
• (other times as well, there will be bonus line dance songs, Jump in or just continue to free style or mingle.
• 8pm Bar Song (to Born Again Christian)
– BE IN POSITION couple minutes early & WITH YOUR BLINKY THING! Wave it extra & as you’re comfortable!!
BLINKY THINGS:
- Our specific ones DURING LEADING - I’m going to recommend we keep them put away EXCEPT during our stage line dances.
- At some point we break out the OTHER blinky things. Please feel free to play this by ear. They are yours to give away and historically they are our gift from line dancers to the special needs community.
Being said, last year the songs didn’t play in order lol. So just staying alert & flexible & holler ANY time with ANY questions!!
