Shiitake Mushroom Cultivation for Small Farms

Each participant will receive one 4 foot long, 4 inch diameter Oak log to innoculate with shiitake mushroom spawn and take home. The spawn has been selected for our area and for quick production. Participants may bring one additional log from home to innoculate for an additional $20. Logs must be hardwood species: White Oak, Sugar Maple preferred: NO Black Locust, Black Walnut, Elm, or Ash. Logs must be cut from LIVE trees THREE weeks before workshop.
