Join Katie for a camp, chaotic cabaret about the Pill. And Vampires. Seriously silly and based on real-life experiences, Side FX is a whistle-stop experiment in shared decision making. A Ph.D. project exploring the science behind hormone use, personal experiences of side effects, and medical sexism.
Drawing on interviews as well as Katie’s own story this cabaret reflects on extraordinary-ordinary experiences. What does it mean to go on the pill as a young teenager because it’s ‘just what you do’; to have a medical professional deny your reality; to take a pill for years without really knowing what it does?
