Shifting Gears Course

There’s a lot of talk out there about cannabis and driving, but how much is actually true? We are inviting our new, young drivers to come learn the truth. Ages 15-21, join us for Shifting Gears: The Blunt Truth About Marijuana & Driving on June 26th from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. This interactive AAA session cuts through the noise to show exactly how THC affects your brain, your reaction time, and your ability to stay in your lane. We’ll dive into the science of impairment, explore how your perception of time and distance changes, and discuss the real-world legal consequences of driving high. Come get the facts, ask your questions, and learn how to protect your license and your life.

Info: The curriculum uses "Fatal Vision" marijuana simulation goggles to give students a first-hand experience of cognitive impairment, such as altered distance and time perception, reduced motor coordination, and blurred vision.

Info: We will go over the RSA's regarding basic roadway safety.

Info: We will have a Drug Recognition Expert (a police officer trained to identify people impaired by drugs other than alcohol) to answer your questions!
