In this delightful Shibori fabric dying workshop with Caroline, you will learn the art of different binding and wrapping techniques to create beautiful patterns. You'll make a set of 3 varying sized hand-dyed wrapping cloths, known as furoshiki, using a choice of colours, including the classic indigo blue. If you wish, you can also bring along 100% woven cotton white clothing items like shirts, skirts, or blouses to dye during the workshop (space permitting). Alongside mastering the techniques, Caroline will share anecdotes from her time in Japan, offering insights into the origins of shibori.- Experience the joy of creating unique pieces that bear the artist's personal touch through binding and wrapping
- Wear old clothes as dyeing can get a bit messy
Immerse yourself in this creative activity, which may evoke feelings of curiosity, excitement, and satisfaction as you witness the transformation of plain fabric into vibrant art pieces. By the end of the workshop, you'll take home your handcrafted wrapping cloths, each reflecting your creativity and newfound knowledge of shibori fabric dying techniques.
