In May of 2025 a group of local women gathered on stage to present the world-renowned show The Vagina Monologues. During that production, something happened to some of those women. Through sharing the stories of other women, they found their own voices and the ability to share some of their own truths. They formed the group LipService, and created a show of their own. Over the course of three performances of this budding show, other local women joined in and added their voices as well.
CODE RED's LipService will present Shhhe is Speaking on Saturday May 16th at The Capitol Theater as the primary fundraising effort for CODE RED.
Far too often women's voices are shushed and silenced. Shhhe is Speaking is designed to give those voices a stage and a microphone and maybe inspire others to find their voice as well.
