What is it like to work at the Sheriff’s Office?Sheriff’s deputies will share job experiences with residents during the annual Sheriff’s Citizens Academy class.
The free 10-week class will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. each Tuesday from April 14 to June 16 at the Sheriff’s Office at 940 New Salem Highway in Murfreesboro.
Citizens will have an opportunity to ask questions of Sheriff Mike Fitzhugh.
Class participants will have hands-on experiences with virtual reality training and view demonstrations with K9s and drones.
They will learn about body worn cameras, crisis negotiations, communications, training, patrol, the mobile command center and traffic enforcement.
Citizens will tour the jail.
