About this Event
Come learn about the upcoming Sheridan Street Bridge over Florida’s Turnpike project and how it may impact drivers, pedestrians, transit riders, residents, and businesses in the area.
Join me, Broward County Commissioner Alexandra P. Davis, for a Public Information Meeting regarding Broward County’s project to raise the Sheridan Street Bridge over Florida’s Turnpike to meet current vertical clearance standards. The bridge will be raised 2 feet to provide a 16’-6” clearance, helping reduce the risk of future vehicle impacts and structural damage.
The project is located on Sheridan Street between N 64th Avenue and SR 7 in the City of Hollywood. Construction is expected to take place in phases beginning in Summer/Fall 2026, with project completion anticipated in Spring 2027, weather and conditions permitting.
During this meeting, residents will have the opportunity to learn more about the project, ask questions, review potential traffic and access impacts, and share concerns with the project team.
Project impacts may include:
Temporary lane closures, nighttime closures, signed pedestrian detours, maintained residential and business access, transit impacts, and overnight Florida’s Turnpike closures during bridge lifting operations.
Your voice matters, and I encourage you to attend as we work together to keep our community informed and prepared.
