About this Event
Monday 6th – Friday 10th July - A women-only course focused on designing and building a traditional timber shelter structure.
Join us for an inspiring summer week outdoors, learning the foundations of traditional structural timber framing while helping to build a beautiful new shelter in the landscape at the Earth Trust in Oxfordshire.
Discover the craft, skill and satisfaction of being part of a team building a beautiful structure in oak that will last a lifetime. You’ll be guided step by step through core skills, including reading drawings, understanding timber layout, marking out joints, and cutting and finishing classic mortise-and-tenon connections.
Along the way, we’ll share techniques for tool handling, sharpening, accuracy, and safe working practices. By the end of the course, you’ll have contributed to a real building and gained the knowledge to begin tackling your own projects with confidence.
