About this Event
Are you interested in marine life, environmental conservation, and the restoration of our local ecosystems? Dr. Megan Moore, Pasco County Sea Grant Agent is hosting an exciting opportunity to learn about oysters and our citizen science program on Vertical Oyster Gardens!
What to Expect:
- Educational Presentation: We will live-stream Dr. Megan Moore's webinar where we will learn about oyster ecology, the critical role oysters play in marine ecosystems, and the different oyster restoration methods implemented in the Tampa Bay area.
- Demonstrations and Citizen Science Opportunities: Explore how to become a Vertical Oyster Garden citizen science participant. Program participants will learn about VOGs, Brooker Creek’s VOG check-out station, and the many ways to get involved in the program. Interested participants will be able to take home pre-made VOGs to install!
Don’t miss this chance to make a positive impact on our waterways, learn about oysters, and join a community dedicated to preserving our local oyster populations. See you there!
Other Ways To Participate:
- View from the comfort of your home: If you're unable to attend in-person, you can register for the webinar-only option here. Note: Instructions will be provided during the webinar on how to secure VOGs for installation (if interested).
