Radical History Walk
Nominally 4hrs but a very leisurely walk.
Meet at the Sheffield Winter Gardens and join us for a fascinating journey through the hidden stories of our city's past! Our Radical History Walk will take you on a unique adventure, uncovering the untold tales of rebellion, activism, and change that have shaped our community. Led by a passionate local historian, this in-person event will open your eyes to a side of history you've never seen before. Get ready to walk, talk, and discover the radical roots of our city!
The walk takes in notable places related to the Chartists, Radicals, Socialists, Anarchists, Trade Unionists and Suffragettes. We will look at characters like Edward Carpenter and William Morris, John Creaghe and Fred Charles, John Sketchley and Adela Pankhurst, while we wander round Sheffield city centre.
