About this Event
Race, Unity and Transformation: Community Led Change in Sheffield brings residents, community leaders, researchers and national voices together for a city-wide Race Equality Assembly at Ellesmere Children’s Centre on 21 March.
Four years on from the Sheffield Race Equality Commission’s recommendations, many people are still asking: what has actually changed? Inequalities across health, housing, education, employment and policing remain part of everyday life for many Black and minority communities. This Assembly creates a space for honest reflection, democratic participation and practical action: grounded in lived experience, backed by evidence, and focused on what meaningful change should look like next.
This is not a closed policy chat or a campaign event. With local elections approaching, candidates will be invited to listen directly to the realities communities face. The goal is simple: strengthen local accountability, build solidarity across the city, and shape clear priorities for change in Sheffield.
Come ready to listen, speak, and help move the conversation from promises to progress.
