Death is part of life... But how do we discuss death? Where do we begin?
Discussions about death don't often happen and one aim of the cafe is to make these conversations more normal. It isn't morbid or a grief support group but a chance to raise our awareness of the subject.
Carers are invited to listen without judgement in a welcoming and respectful space to share diversity of thoughts and feelings.
A Death Cafe (www.deathcafe.com) is a group-directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes. Death Cafes are always offered in an accessible, respectful and confidential space, with no intention of leading people to any conclusion, product, or course of action.
It's a great way to think about what matters to us in life as well as death.
Please note that this is a safe, compassionate, supportive environment to talk about death and dying but it is not a counselling group.
Mariana Garcia and Jan Outram will facilitate the session and create a safe space for carers to have open conversations about death and dying
