Sheena Hill and Lori Widney discuss Sheena Hill's new book on bridging the generational gap in raising children!
About this Event

There are tons of wonderful books about parenting, but what about books about grandparenting? Join us for a conversation with Sheena Hill, parenting coach and author of The Grand Guide: Mindful Tools for Modern Grandparenting.

The Grand Guide enables families to bridge the generational gap in raising children. It offers compassionate, practical tools to help grandparents understand today’s child development and parenting practices. The workbook details what has changed in parenting (based on attachment and neuroscience research) and provides step-by-step instructions on how grandparents can respond to 40 common concerns with these shifts in mind.

Lori Widney, principal of Watershed Public Charter School, will join Sheena Hill in conversation.

We're looking forward to an insightful night of sharing experiences and insights in service of raising children well and cultivating rich intergenerational relationships.

Books will be available for sale at the event.

Sheena Hill is a trauma-informed, neurobiologically-focused responsive parenting coach in private practice at Parenting Works. She works with families around the world, providing education and support for parents and professionals who seek to move beyond rewards and consequences to deepen their understanding of development and attachment while masterfully applying concrete skills in emotional intelligence, limit setting, and using play therapeutically. She is the author of "The Grand Guide: Mindful Tools for Modern Grandparenting", a resource to help families bridge the generational gap about raising children. When she's not helping parents, Sheena loves learning about dinosaurs and visiting national parks. She lives in Baltimore with her spouse, 3 children, and a growing menagerie of pets (including 5 axolotls).
